WHAT TO PREPARE
• One song (1–1.5 minutes) in the style of The Little Mermaid
(Please do NOT sing a song from the show)
• Your selection should be memorized (no phones or lyric sheets)
• You may be asked to sing a secondary piece by the Music Director
• A list of any and all conflicts from April 11 - July 11 including possible conflicts.​​

MANDATORY ORIENTATION & FIRST REHEARSAL
All cast members are required to attend a mandatory orientation and first rehearsal on Monday, April 13, from 6:00–9:00 PM.
Youth performers will be released at 8:00 PM unless prior parent/guardian permission is provided.A parent or guardian must attend orientation with all performers under age 18.
Due to the importance of this meeting, failure to attend may result in removal from the cast unless prior arrangements have been approved.

Ariel
A mermaid and King Triton's youngest daughter. She is obsessed with everything about the human world, and dreams of becoming a part of life above the water. Hardheaded, naive, and emotional, but also kind hearted.

A human monarch who has no interest of taking the crown. A handsome, affable lad with a buoyant, adventurous nature. After Ariel saves his life, he becomes obsessed with finding her and hearing her voice once more.

Grimsby

Audition Frequently Asked Questions
​Where are auditions located?
Auditions will be at the Broadway On The Side (BOTS) Studio. Please enter around back on the east side of the facility. The BOTS Studio is located at 454 N 325 E, Ogden, UT 84404.
Is there parking and how far away is it?​​
There is free paved parking directly to the south and east of the Studio. There is additional parking inside the general shopping center parking lot.
Where do I report when I arrive?​
Once you have arrived, proceed to the back (east) door of the Studio to check-in and fill out any needed paperwork.
Are there bathrooms at auditions & rehearsals?
Yes. There is one single-person bathroom located inside the Studio.
What is the rehearsal schedule?
Rehearsals are typically Mon, Tue, Thu 6–9 PM and Sat 9 AM–12 PM. Occasionally, we may add Wed or Fri rehearsals as needed. Tech week will include additional required rehearsals. Please list all conflicts at auditions so we can plan fairly.
Is this a paid opportunity?
This is a volunteer-based community theater production, and performers are not paid. Each cast member receives a complimentary ticket to the show. As the company grows, we hope to offer stipends in future productions, so joining now is a chance to get involved early and help shape the company.
Do I have to pay to be in the show if cast?
No—there is no fee to participate. Cast members are asked to purchase their script or youth chorus music book and submit a refundable commitment deposit. (Digital scripts will not be available for this production.) If this is a financial concern, please reach out—we’re happy to work with you on a case-by-case basis.
Where will rehearsals be?
Rehearsal locations may vary but will primarily be at the Broadway On The Side studio in Ogden.
